A graphical representation of the Ottawa real estate market: 2021 vs. 2020 vs 2019.
Key Insights:
- New listings have reverted back to 2019 seasonal trends.
- Properties sold per week are also back to 2019 levels. Stress buying (and selling) seems to have ended.
- Average sale prices (for both condos and residential) peaked in February/March. Overall prices are well above 2019 and 2020 levels. That being said, prices have given back about 5-10% of their gains since the February/March 2021 highs.
- We are still in a strong sellers’ market. Demand is strong and inventory is tight heading into the autumn market.
